If I have to wait tables during college, you can too… And if you are get 10 or 50k for your student loan, I should get that for my mortgage.

What's "wrong" is that we even have student loan debt at all. Based on principle we should have access to free healthcare and free college. You have a free public school you can go to don't you? College is just a continuation. We need to get on board with the rest of the developed world asap.

How can people think like that? Why can't people be normal? I don't get it. It's not hard. If you want something then go work for it.

I have mixed feelings on this. Lets say he has 10K in school loans and 10K in car debt. So 20K total. Lets say he gets 10K to pay off school loan, but instead pays off his car. he is still on the hook for 10K in debt in his life. He will still owe one of them. Now, ethically/ morally it is wrong. Discuss……

Oh, give me a break. Millionaires do the EXACT SAME THING this guy is talking about. They just don't see it that way since it is in the form of tax breaks, etc. About the only difference is that the millionaires don't need that extra cash like this kid does.
That said, I still think it is wrong. Just don't sit there as a millionaire getting major handouts via tax breaks and act all high and mighty.

The chances of student loan forgiveness seem pretty low at this point anyway.

College when Dave went to school was probably actually affordable. While I think that people shouldn't take out loans they can't pay back, education is a different category in my opinion. You're basically borrowing now so you can get the job that will pay you enough to pay it back. Sadly, that doesn't always work out. The problem isn't people getting student loans, the problem is college charging far too much to go. It wasn't always like that.

What a load of horseshit, integrity isn't a cause of wealth. Most uber rich are not good people. You essentially have to be playing dirty, or introducing a new product that forces others out of their jobs to make billions.

Dave failed to mention that in the event student loans are not forgiven, the caller would be stuck with the bill. Student loans are not bankruptable, even if you fraudulently use them to purchase a car.

Don’t believe there will be any type of
Forgiveness but I absolutely detest the argument against it.
I mean don’t taxpayers have to bail out corporations and companies all the time? You mean we have to pay for these selfish sleezebags?

AO has a similar outlook to it as well. Scummy behavior from the caller and I feel a poor outlook on SLF.

Hope this kid knows that any amount borrowed under the guise of student loans must be used for educational needs and even then, anything in excess of the government’s determination of the cost of attendance at a particular school is considered income and taxed accordingly.
